Frequently Asked Questions - FAQs
Q. How does your remote service work? How can it be this easy?
A. Our software uses a series of secure tunnels to our servers. Our tools do not need any configuration on your end. As long as the MacAnywhere Mac Helpmate program makes it into your applications folder, we will be able to connect to your screen.
Q. Is your service safe?
A. Yes, your data is encrypted throughout the process, at no point is your data available to any prying eyes, and don't worry, we can't connect to your machine until you initiate the session.
Q. Some companies bill by the minute for support, why a minimum of 30 minutes?
A. Very few issues can be solved in under 30 minutes, once the issue is found and resolved, we have to make sure you understand why it happened and how to make sure it doesn't happen again. Some companies that work by the minute charge upwards of $4 a minute! That's $240 per hour! At that rate, there is so much pressure to be fast that errors do occur. Our rates are always $15 for the first 30 minutes, that's only 49¢ per minute. (rounded up to the nearest cent)
Q. What happens if you can't connect to my Computer?
A. If your Mac or PC is not in good enough shape for us to connect to, we can facilitate a visit from an onsite technician in your area. We have a comprehensive network of Mac and PC on-site Techs around the country to help you if things get hairy.
Q. Being green is big business these days, how is MacAnywhere staying ahead of the sustainable curve?
A. Green is our last name. Our employees work from the comfort of their own home, this virtual office saves electricity, gas, and lowers our carbon footprint substantially. Not needing to drive to you to fix your computer saves us all time and money. Looking to make your company more green? Let us help with a network and technology usage analysis.
Q. How do your customers feel about your remote support options versus their last computer guy?
A. At MacAnywhere we know your computer has problems. We wouldn't be here today if they didn't. Your old PC guy usually got the call when it was to late, the damage was done and most often you started your picture albums over again. We strive for preventative maintenance and proper education. The more you understand your computer, the less you will need our help. Our customers find that they learn better when they are able to sit in front of their computer comfortably, without someone over their shoulder barking orders. We are not PC repair guys, we are educators.
